עמוס בועזסון
Amos Boasson was born in Jerusalem, where he also received his B. Mus from the Rubin Academy, studying with Prof. David Chen. He was a receipient of the AICF Scholarships. After two years of study with Mr. Chaim Taub, he completed his M.Mus and a Performer Diploma at Indiana University. He performed in the U.S.A, Japan, India, West and East Europe and Israel as solosist and chamber musician. He performed the American Premiere of Karl Amadeus Hartmann's Viola Concerto.
Amos recorded over 150 pieces, mostly for the Israeli Broadcasting Authorities' Voice of Music. With the Lumina Harp Trio he recorded for the French label Selena. He is a member of the Sapphire string quartet. He takes part in the authentic Baroque performance movement; as a member of Academia Daniel he performed in Israel, Europe and South America, and recorded several CDs for the Hessische Rundfunk and CPO labels.
As of 2007 Amos Boasson is co-principal violist in the Jerusalem Symphony, with whom he also appeared as a soloist. Previously he held principal and assistant principal positions with the Kibbutz Chamber Orchestra (where he was in charge of the youth concerts' script and mediation), the Israel Camerata and the Israel Sinfonietta, Beer Sheva; He also played with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
Amos is active as a composer as well. Among his compositions are "Illusions" for harp and violin, "Bell" for harp solo, and a song cycle to Japanese texts.
He holds an M.Mus in orchestral conducting, having studied with the late Maestro Prof. Mendi Rodan at the Buchman-Mehta Music School of the Tel Aviv University. Since 2009 he is the conductor and music director of the Hovevei Hamusica Orchestra in Jerusalem.
Amos is married to harpist Gittit Boasson, with whom he often performs.
